Lead the finance function of a successful manufacturing business.
We're looking for an experienced Office Manager, preferably within finance, to take ownership of our finance department and play a pivotal role within our established manufacturing business.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strong financial management with operational involvement. Reporting directly to senior management, you'll oversee the day-to-day finance function, lead a small team and provide accurate financial reporting that supports business performance and strategic decision-making.

Essential Requirement – Please Read Before Applying
Previous hands-on experience using Sage Manufacturing is mandatory.
This role is not suitable for candidates who have only used Sage 50, Sage Accounts or the finance modules within Sage 200.
We require someone with proven experience using Sage Manufacturing (the manufacturing module integrated with Sage 200). This system underpins our manufacturing, stock control and production processes, so it is essential that applicants have practical experience working with Sage Manufacturing within a manufacturing environment.
Applications from candidates without Sage Manufacturing experience will unfortunately not be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day finance function for a busy manufacturing business.
- Manage and optimise financial processes using Sage Manufacturing and Sage 200.
- Produce monthly management accounts and financial reports for the Directors.
- Oversee Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, bank reconciliations and cash flow.
- Support payroll administration, employee expenses and VAT returns.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting and maintain robust financial controls.
- Supervise and develop a small finance team (minimum two direct reports).
- Work closely with external accountants and auditors.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and financial regulations.
- Support the wider business by providing accurate financial and operational information.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven, hands-on experience using Sage Manufacturing (Not just Sage 50, 100 or 200; this must be Sage Manufacturing add on experience).
- Experience working within a manufacturing business.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, stock control, BOMs, production and costing within Sage Manufacturing.
- Previous experience managing a finance office or similar finance leadership role.
- Experience supervising a small finance team.
- Experience preparing monthly management accounts.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work confidently with colleagues, suppliers and customers.
