A well-established, family-run manufacturing business with over 25 years’ industry experience, specialising in high-quality building and architectural products.
As part of a long-term succession plan, the owner is looking to step back from day-to-day involvement and appoint a senior individual to help drive commercial growth and support operational management, with a clear pathway to Managing Director in the future.
The Role
This is a hands-on senior position combining new business development, sales leadership, and operational oversight. The successful candidate will play a key role in increasing revenue while supporting the day-to-day running of the business.
The role will initially be heavily sales-focused, involving proactive field-based activity, including face-to-face visits and prospecting. Over time, responsibilities will expand into broader leadership and strategic involvement.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development
- Generate new business opportunities through proactive, field-based sales activity
- Build relationships with trade and commercial customers
- Identify new markets and growth opportunities
- Manage and grow existing accounts
- Work closely with production to ensure accurate quotations and delivery
Operations & Office Management
- Oversee day-to-day office operations
- Support and manage a small office-based team
- Ensure effective communication between sales, office, and manufacturing
- Assist with operational planning and decision-making
Leadership & Succession
- Act as a senior figure within the business
- Take on increasing responsibility as part of succession planning
- Progression opportunity into a Managing Director role

- Proven sales experience
- Strong commercial awareness and new business drive
- Hands-on, proactive approach
- Comfortable managing people and operations
- Full UK driving licence

- Background in manufacturing, construction, or building products
