Working on a permanent Monday to Friday daytime contract, you will be responsible for ensuring the HGV fleet is legally compliant and at maximum capacity during peak times. Focusing primarily on Transport and compliance, you will manage trailer hire suppliers and repair agents and arrange vehicle servicing. In return you’ll receive a competitive salary of up to £24,000, company pension scheme and chances for progression. Reporting to the Transport Operations Manager, Fleet Supervisor duties include:
Liaising with a team of Yard Supervisors about vehicle scheduling
Ensuring vehicle servicing schedules are adhered to
Managing vehicle cleaning records
Calling out repair agents and tyre fitters and ensuring vehicle defect books are up to date
Managing numerous trailer hire suppliers
Investigating damages and preparing quotes for accident repairs
Completing purchase ledger for repair work and trailer hire
Dispatching work tickets
Updating the retorque register
Working with the Operations Manager to plan servicing in line with peak requirements
Creating fleet statistics reports for senior management
Ensuring legal compliance with the O-license, H&S and company policy
Constantly analyzing ways in which the operation can be improved, providing maximum productivity and ultimately providing savings to the customer
Willingness to be flexible regarding job duties
Strong Transport Compliance knowledge – you must fully understand service scheduling, LOLA tests, calibration
This role would suit a Fleet Clerk with great knowledge looking to step up and manage suppliers
Familiarity with TMS, ideally Isotrak
Knowledge of O-license requirements
Awareness of transport budgets
Good admin skills – ideally purchase ledger experience
